Join us for the AAWHG Workshop 2023! Share your knowledge and have your input to our widely read and respected RPs designed by industry, for industry, to encourage wildlife hazard management best practice in the aviation sector.
The AAWHG holds two regular events: a biennial forum, and in the alternate years, a workshop. In 2023, following last year’s successful forum in Adelaide, our workshop will take place on Queensland’s Gold Coast, from 24–26 October.
The 2023 workshop will focus on updating and finalising several of our recommended practices (RPs). The RPs to be worked on during the workshop in October will be: ‘Wildlife strike reporting and record keeping, ‘Wildlife Strike Minimisation’ (aircraft-based mitigation) and ‘Training and competency for ATC’. An existing RP, ‘Training and competency: flight crew‘, a final draft of which is on the AAWHG website will also be reviewed and updated.
The last workshop, held in 2019 in Sydney, had a record attendance, and attendees’ wide-ranging expertise and enthusiasm contributed immensely to getting the RPs to their current stage. We are hoping for the same valuable input in 2023 and have kept the workshop registration fee as low as we can to enable as many industry members as possible to attend.
